A grobag® baby sleeping bag is a wearable blanket that will keep your baby at a comfortable temperature all night long, and unlike traditional sheets and blankets it's impossible for baby to slip down inside them, or kick them off.  A safe and sound night's sleep for your baby, means peace of mind and more sleep for you!  By selecting the appropriate tog rating of grobag® you can keep your little one comfortable all night long. Using a grobag® at home and when travelling, also provides baby with a familiar and re-assuring sleeping environment.

During design grobag® worked closely with FSID (Foundation for the Study of Infant Death), and grobag® are now the only baby sleeping bags to be recommended by FSID.

Grobag® baby sleeping bags come in a variety of soft fabrics, and all of the designs have a cotton lining to go next to your baby’s skin. They are available in woven cotton, organic cotton, soft cotton jersey, luxurious velour and soft anti-pill fleece. Our 2.5 tog grobag® baby sleeping bags have a soft polyester filling which is lightweight and quick to dry. The 1.0 and 0.5 tog grobag® baby sleeping bags are made of 100% cotton, as there is no filling on the lighter weight togs.  Zips and poppers are always selected from a reputable branded supplier to ensure the highest ongoing quality and safety.

When can I first put my baby in a Grobag® Baby Sleeping Bag?
0-6 months size Grobag® can be used for a full term, 7lb baby from birth. However, if your baby weighs less than 7lb at birth, we recommend you wait a short time, until your baby grows. For babies between 7lbs and 10lbs we recommend you fasten the poppers under the arms, to reduce the size of the arm holes.

Tog Ratings
Grobag® baby sleeping bags are available in three different tog ratings: 0.5 tog, 1.0 tog & 2.5 tog.
A tog measurement is a European warmth rating, choose a suitable tog rating for the room temperature and time of year: The higher the tog, the warmer the product.

  • 0.5 tog For hot weather and very warm nursery environments of 24-27 degrees C
  • 1.0 tog Use during warmer weather and in nurseries of 20-24 degrees C
  • 2.5 tog Ideal for standard nursery temperatures of 16-20 degrees C

Sizes
Sizes for grobags vary, the guide below should help you decide which you need.
The lengths of grobag® baby sleeping bags (from shoulder to bottom) are:

  • 0-6 months (minimum weight 3.2kg/7lb) 76cm
  • 6-18 month (minimum weight 8.1kg/18lb) 94cm
  • 18-36month (minimum weight 11.4kg/25lbs) 112cm

Care
Grobag® baby sleeping bags can be washed at 40°C and tumble dried on a low heat setting. As with all cotton goods, grobag® baby sleeping bags have been designed to allow for up to 5% shrinkage.

Safety Note
A number of external factors determine the tog rating of the sleeping bag that should be used. These include the quantity of clothing the baby is wearing, the temperature of the infant’s bedroom, the baby’s health and the amount of bedding necessary to keep an individual infant warm – this may vary as it does for adults.
Depending on your childs circumstances, grobag® tog & sleeping environment, we recommend a maximum of two layers of clothing inside a Grobag®: Short or long sleeved bodysuit on its own, or with pyjamas/sleepsuit for temperatures below 20°C

  • Check your baby regularly to ensure they do not overheat.
  • Never use Grobag® baby sleeping bag with a duvet or quilt.
  • Use a room thermometer to monitor babys room temperature (supplied free with every Grobag® baby sleeping bag)

Tip For Parents
We would recommend you buy at least two grobag® baby sleeping bags for each child – one to wear and one for the wash!
It's also a good idea to buy Grobags with different togs - we recommend 2.5 tog for general use & either 0.5 tog or 1.0 tog for warmer summer weather.
